Alongside my writing work, I’m also the singer and chief songwriter in cosmic folk-rock group The No Sorrows – you can hear our first LP right now on Spotify. Over the past few years we’ve played countless gigs across London, offering support to (among many others) Incredible String Band leader Mike Heron, Trembling Bells, The Clientele and Alessi’s Ark.
Blending the earthy traditions and celestial harmonies of the 60s psychedelic folk boom with the melodic songcraft and jagged unpredictability of classic indie rock, The No Sorrows have been compared to everyone from Trees to Felt to Michael Head and the Strands, and were described by the NME as sounding like ‘a mix of early Fairport Convention and Dinosaur Jr in full flight’.
Our self-titled first album is out now through King Bill Records, and you can hear a handful of songs from it below, or stream the whole LP from Spotify. If you like what you hear you can purchase a vinyl copy from my Discogs store, or drop me a line and order the album directly. And in the meantime, do find us on Facebook for details of upcoming gigs and new releases.
